Seventh Anniversary Celebration of Kalmunai Municipal Council Postponed

(Kalmunai) The Mayor H.M.M. Haris said that the function organised to commemorate the seventh (7th) anniversary of Kalmunai Municipal Council on the 23rd of this month has been postponed indefinitely when the preparation for this function has been completed, due the demise of parliamentarian K. Pathmanthan today (Thursday the 21st instant). He said this action was taken by the Municipal Council as a mark of condolence to the late parliamentarian and to pave way for its Tamil members to attend the funeral.

Launching a website and introducing a logo and flag for the Municipal Council along with a cultural show were the main events scheduled for the commemoration day

However the Mayor will welcome the Munich City Mayor Hepmondzer of Germany who is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka especially for this function along with the director of Sakthi TV Sri Ranga as a special guest at a function to be held on the 23rd instant at Mahmood Ladies College, Kalmunai. The mayor will also honour the senior journalist A.L.M. Saleem and the East Thinakkural Editor Nilam at this function. The guests will be entertained with dinner at the end of this function.
